Care Home

Overview

Cloverdale

Cloverdale is purpose built with the needs of its residents at the forefront.  One will notice unique features such as wide corridors, open plan styling, all areas on one floor only with no ramps or stair lifts and hand rails throughout the home.  Whilst the home has all the advantages of design specifically for the elderly, it has managed to retain the warmth and character of a home. The classic and elegant decor and the finishing touches give this home its own feel and character.

Cloverdale has forty single rooms, all equipped with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table with lamp, comfy chair and tray table. Thirty Nine rooms are en suite and the other room has a hand basin. All are large enough for wheelchair access.  The rooms are decorated in tasteful light bright colours and there is ample space for residents to bring in ornaments, photographs and other small items of furniture to make them feel at home.  All rooms are within easy reach of the bathrooms and toilets, and commodes are also available.

The home is set within a couple of acres of landscaped gardens, which residents are free to use at any time for their pleasure. There is a pleasant patio area and ample parking is provided for visitors and any emergency vehicles.

The lounge is elegantly furnished, has a lovely light atmosphere and we find that our residents experience great enjoyment in this area, watching television or just taking an interest in our many visitors passing by.

The entrance hall leads into a main corridor to the rear of the building and two corridors, one on either side of this reception hall.  There are further corridors branching off the main corridor.  All the bedrooms are located off these corridors.  The corridors can easily accommodate two wheelchairs and there is a handrail on one side. The main dining room, where most of our residents meet together for meals, has tables seating between four and six people and is bright and airy while keeping a feeling of grandeur. We find that out residents enjoy a social atmosphere around their meal times. One can also enter the conservatory from this dining room.

The main lounge at the rear of the building is a beautiful bright room overlooking the

superb landscaped garden. The lounge is furnished with a large television, specifically bearing in mind the visual difficulties our residents  may encounter. It is in this room that most of the entertainment takes place and you will often find it buzzing with activity.

In addition to the two ample lounges, there is a quiet room situated further away from the central area. Here residents can enjoy the tranquillity that the home offers, have a warm drink with friends and relatives, meet with solicitors, financial advisors or other health care professionals.

The whole house is beautifully furnished with fitted carpets throughout. The dual backed heating system keeps every corner at ambient temperature whilst big south facing windows ensure the home is bright, light and airy.
